Heatwave Adds Fire Lineup of Aftershows for 2023 Festival

If you’re coming to Chicago for Heatwave Festival, here’s everything you need to know for the 2023 Heatwave afterparties.

Heatwave Music Festival is returning for its second year on June 10-11, 2023! After the first iteration of the event last year, the festival is moving to Northerly Island for 2023. The lineup for the two-day festival features headliners like Griz, Kx5, Slander, Tiësto, Loud Luxury, LSDream, and Malaa.

The event weekend is heating up with two nights of afterparties taking place across Chicago’s best venues. The aftershows for Heatwave Music Festival will be at five unique venues on both Saturday and Sunday nights after the festival concludes. Although exact times will vary, aftershows will start around 10 PM and go till 3-5 AM depending on the location.

Heatwave 2023 afters are currently only available for festival ticketolders. Ticket links are below, and 2-day and single day tickets are available now.

Heatwave 2023 Afterparties

Venue: Radius
Address: 640 W Cermak Rd, Chicago, IL 60616
Proximity to Northerly Island: ~12 minute drive
Saturday: Griz
Sunday: Tiësto
What was previously an old steel factory is now a booming warehouse with great sound, snacks, seating areas, and most importantly, tons of space to dance. This ~2,500 capacity venue has been a booming spot for Chicago locals since it opened in the beginning of 2020 just before the pandemic. Both Griz and Tiësto are sure to have great headlining performances at this world-class venue.

Venue: Cermak Hall
Address: 640 W Cermak Rd, Chicago, IL 60616
Proximity to Northerly Island: ~12 minute drive
Saturday: TESTPILOT (Deadmau5’s techno alias)
Sunday: Slander
Cermak Hall is nestled inside of Radius Chicago. Although the two clubs are connected, there is a separate entrance for shows at Cermak. Separate tickets are needed for each show, and neither venue allows reentry. This smaller side room holds ~1,350 guests and boasts more of a Boiler Room feel compared to Radius. Cermak Hall will allow festivalgoers to see headliners in a more intimate venue.

Venue: Prysm
Address: 1543 N Kingsbury St, Chicago, IL 60642
Proximity to Northerly Island: ~20 Minute drive
Saturday: Kaskade
Sunday: Gryffin
Prysm offers an intimate experience to catch big names at an alluring Chicago nightclub. This club has state-of-the-art sound and lighting including a 20 x 20 ft LED wall behind the DJ booth. Prysm has recently undergone renovations to update the sound and production, as well as accommodate more dance floor space.

Venue: No. 9
Address: 1543 N Kingsbury St, Chicago, IL 60642
Proximity to Northerly Island: ~20 Minute drive
Saturday: Twinsick
Sunday:
 Alec Monopoly
No. 9 is a champagne lounge inside of Prysm Nightclub. This room features additional artists in a smaller setting off of the second floor balcony of the club.

Venue: Spybar
Address:646 N Franklin St, Chicago, IL 60654
Proximity to Northerly Island:
 ~15 minute drive
Sunday: VNSSA
Spybar, an internationally recognized house & techno club, is hosting just one official Heatwave after show. This underground venue boasts big sound and a global vibe. The environment is more casual than other Chicago clubs and has an emphasis on the music with experienced electronic music patrons.

With all of these great names, our only complaint is now choosing just one (per night). Tickets for the aftershows are currently only available to those with Heatwave Music Festival passes, but may be available to the public at a later date. We’ll see you at Northerly Island!
