The return of Swedish House Mafia is yet again in full swing, as the Scandinavian trio have announced another television appearance. SHM will be performing at the pre-show for the MTV VMAs on Sunday, September 12th.
Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell previously appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon with Ty Dolla $ign and 070 Shake on July 19th. This will be their highly anticipated follow-up performance.
The Swedish DJs made headlines earlier this year with a brand new look and musical style after an extended hiatus. After realizing they’re not into making radio hits like they were in 2010, SHM left a lucrative record deal to instead make whatever style of music they want to in 2021 and beyond.
The new tracks “Lifetime” and “It Gets Better” have been polarizing for some fans, but overall, reception has been positive. There’s no denying it’s an intense change of pace from any other records they’ve made before. Both songs will be performed during their MTV set.
Swedish House Mafia will be joined by Polo G and Kim Petras at the VMAs pre-party on Sunday, September 12th. Starting at 6:30 PM ET, their set is sure to be another widely discussed performance. It’s probably no Deadmau5 at the 2010 VMAs, but we can’t wait to see what SHM comes up with.
[UPDATE] : The Swedish House Mafia “Lifetime” x “It Gets Better” mashup can be watched below. It features a surprise preview of a collaboration with The Weeknd.
