Rezz launched HypnoVizion Records earlier this year, and isqa is the first artist featured on the label via the i 4ove you EP.
Rezz has established herself as one of the leading bass music artists in the EDM scene. She launched her own label HypnoVizion in October 2022, and i 4ove you by isqa is HypnoVizion’s first external EP following Rezz’s self-releases.
isqa is an alias of Jordan Orcaz, better known as No Mana. Starting back in 2013 as his first project, Orcaz was inspired to bring isqa back this year after Rezz played one of his old tracks in her EDC Las Vegas 2022 set. i 4ove you is an experimental bass EP featuring four tracks that explore heavy and emotive sounds.
Jordan Orcaz started isqa in 2013 and connected with Rezz on SoundCloud in 2014.
He then started No Mana in 2015, and his signature electro-influenced style quickly started to gain traction on mau5trap. While Orcaz continued to pursue the success of that project, he created music as isqa very sparingly, outside of a collaboration with Rezz, an unofficial remix for EPROM, and a few other originals.
In 2022, Rezz played “Ghosts” by isqa at EDCLV, and both fans and artists alike rediscovered the isqa alias and wanted more. Orcaz then created a 30-minute audio-visual piece titled “i should’ve been dead” prior to the release of the i 4ove you EP.
i 4ove you is an experimental trip full of weird sound design and dark, eerie electronic music production.
The leading track “flusterfuck” clocks in at 4:20 and is full of heavy, abrasive bass. “i should’ve been dead” is a more spiritual journey full of epic synth ideas. “mycelium faceplant” featuring fknsyd continues the chill vibes with a complex tune with some future bass qualities. i 4ove you closes with “souls”, properly sending off the EP with a heavy drop.
i 4ove you is an interesting foray into experimental bass music from a truly unique electronic music producer in Jordan Orcaz. Rezz clearly made a perfect choice for the first featured artist release on HypnoVizion Records. It was also just announced that isqa will be on opening support duties at Rezz Rocks V in September 2023.
