We go up, down, left, right…think I need you by my side, three hundred and sixty-five! It’s a few days after her show at Spybar, and HoneyLuv‘s “Thr33 6ix 5ive” track is still stuck on repeat in my head.
On Saturday, October 15th, Taylor Character a.k.a. HoneyLuv blessed the city of Chicago with her more than superb performance at Spybar. Her unique style puts a darker bass-filled twist on the usual melodic house music, and it matched the night’s atmosphere perfectly. HoneyLuv’s interesting style mixed with older 90s and 2000s throwbacks had her controlling the crowd for over three continual hours as if we were puppets.
You couldn’t find a better opener in the city than Inphinity. He is Spybar’s dynamic resident DJ with a performance and style that prepared us for the mind-blowing set yet to come. Both of their performances were equally as memorable, entertaining the entire crowd all the way up until closing time.
HoneyLuv is an open-format DJ with a heavy concentration on house and techno styles while also mashing together hip-hop, R&B, and afrobeat. Her one-of-a-kind style with old-school throwbacks coincides with her stylish singles such as “Your Tongue” and “BeauLuv”, and she had the crowd in an absolute uproar for the entire night.
Honey Luv’d Chicago and we loved having her! I definitely won’t be missing her show next time she comes to our city.
