Memorial Day Weekend is just a few days away, which means Movement Detroit is almost here along with plenty of aftershows to choose from.
Movement Detroit is an institution of electronic music. Held in the birthplace of techno, it is a decades-old Detroit tradition. It’s one of our favorite festivals of the year, and we can’t wait to return again in 2026. Read one of our previous reviews of Movement now.
While the festival at Hart Plaza downtown provides plenty of music for the 3-day weekend, afterparties are one of Movement’s best qualities. Venues across the Detroit area host dozens of events, with both officially endorsed shows and underground parties to choose from. Detroit Love, Lincoln Factory, Saturday 11 PM-6 AM

Detroit Love is a familiar name for Movement attendees. Well known for their events each Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday night at Lincoln Factory features a stacked lineup across multiple genres. Legends Carl Craig & Stacey Pullen headline the bill, while other performers include Claude VonStroke and Zack Fox. [tickets]
Hekate + We Are Not Alone – Russell Industrial Center, Saturday 11 PM-5 AM

Two female forces of techno are hosting their own stages at Russell Industrial Center Saturday. A warehouse complex with several rooms, Russell hosts some of the biggest late night raves of the weekend. Headliner Sara Landry presents Hekate in the main room, while Ellen Allien hosts We Are Not Alone at the second stage known as Building 6. Dax J, DJ Stringray, Volvox, and others will perform. Techno in the Expo + Richie Hawtin MINUS+, Russell Industrial Center, Sunday 11 PM-5 AM

Russell Industrial Center has some epic shows in 2026, and the lineup for Sunday night is phenomenal. Movement Detroit regulars 999999999 headline the main stage alongside established artists Chris Liebing and Eli Brown. In Building 6, techno pioneer and Detroit native Richie Hawtin hosts his own stage featuring a live set from Matador. [tickets]
I.T. Presents The Bunker, Tangent Gallery, Monday 10 PM-6 AM

The afters in Detroit go well into Tuesday morning, and anyone that’s been to Movement knows that Tangent Gallery is one of the premier aftershow venues. Monday is presented by Interdimensional Transmissions, with collaborative sets featuring Surgeon, Octo Octa, Mike Servito, and many more across three stages. [tickets]
