Versatile house and techno artist Rebuke has released an official remix of deadmau5’s 2007 track “Not Exactly” on mau5trap.
The 2008 deadmau5 LP random album title is an instantly recognizable release for anyone that grew up with the electronic music scene. One of the many standout tracks on that album is “Not Exactly”, and 17 years later, deadmau5’s mau5trap label has released an official remix from Rebuke.
deadmau5 – Not Exactly (Rebūke Remix)
“Not Exactly” has been celebrated ever since its release nearly two decades ago.
Originally released as a single in 2007, the 9 minute and 15 second instrumental was one of the mau5trap label’s first track releases. It won the Beatport Music Award for Best Single and charted in the top 50 on the US Dance chart in 2010. Deadmau5’s music from this era is simply unmatched; his raw talent and forward-thinking use of technology is extremely apparent on random album title, as all of the songs still sound fresh today.
The Rebuke remix puts a melodic techno vibe on this progressive house anthem. This remix precedes the upcoming vinyl re-release of random album title coming later this year.
The Rebuke remix of “Not Exactly” gives a modern vibe to a timeless classic.
Rebuke is one of the most unique DJ/producers in the scene, and this can be heard on his “Not Exactly” remix. It preserves the feeling of the original while simultaneously bringing new elements into the mix. He just finished performing in the Yuma Tent at Coachella weekend one and will return to perform again at weekend two.
Along with the upcoming random album title re-issue, deadmau5 will be performing “retro5pective” shows celebrating his career accomplishments at the Hollywood Bowl on April 27 and Brooklyn Mirage May 2-3. Tickets for the May 2nd show are still available, and a weekend trip to New York just might be in our future.
