Out now on Capitol Records, “Changes” is a triumphant return to new music for Empire of the Sun.
Empire of the Sun is a legendary group that transcends genres to create a one-of-a-kind sound. The duo just released their latest single, “Changes“, one of only a handful of new songs since their last album eight years ago.
Highly influential for well over a decade, their tracks have seen billions of streams and have been sampled by countless artists. Songs like “Walking on a Dream” and “Alive” are instantly recognizable across generations of electronic and rock music fans. “Changes” is Empire of The Sun’s second single since 2020, and it’s clear that a lot of time and effort went into making this track the very best it can be.
“Changes” has an impressive songwriting and production team behind it.
Empire of the Sun created the track with frequent Avicii collaborators and EDM hitmakers Vargas & Lagola, as well as producer/songwriter Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow, Bloodshy & Avant). The music video was directed by Michael Maxxis, who has previously worked with artists like Kygo, Orville Peck, and Sum 41.
While there hasn’t been an official new album announcement yet, expect to hear more new music from Empire of the Sun soon.
With the duo long overdue for another album, 2024 has potential to be a massive year for Empire of the Sun. If “Changes” is any sign of what’s to come, their next album is truly going to be something special.
