We Talked To Three of Our Favorite Artists Performing at We Belong Here Miami

We spoke with artists Charlie Chill, Kamcoco, and Max & Dana ahead of their performances at We Belong Here Miami this weekend.

One unique thing about We Belong Here Miami is their commitment to local talent. The festival lineup features a huge selection of up-and-coming local artists both at the Beach Stage and Lost Village. From open to close both days of the festival, you can see Miami DJs performing a variety of sounds including house, disco, techno, and more. We got the chance to talk to a few of our favorite acts ahead of their performances.

Charlie Chill, Lost Village, Saturday 11 PM-12 AM

Charlie Chill

Charlie Chill has been a DJ for 15 years, and a producer for 6. Listen to his stuff here! His way of mixing different genres takes you through a journey of music and sound and keeps you on your toes as to what to expect next. Charlie Chill has performed at huge Miami venues such as M2 and Treehouse, as well as other notable venues throughout the US such as Sound (LA), Webster Hall (NY), and PB Live (DC).

What has been your experience working with We Belong Here and getting booked to play the festival?
Working with WBH is a great experience that is super seamless, because we are working together at an optimized level of efficiency. To get booked for the festival is an honor & a blessing, and it’s something I’ve had my eye on since the festival was created!

What excites you most about We Belong Here Miami 2024?
What excites me most is the expansion of stages, which means more to explore! Festivals are all about discovery of self, music, the world, and how it interacts with itself. It’s truly about the journey and everything around you is the destination…because it’s where you are.

What should people know before your set?
Music & DJing have been my whole life for half of my life. I have put so many hours in mastering my craft, and it’s all for you, the listener. The difference between this gig and any other, though, is that I’m playing more of my original music than ever!

Kamoco, Lost Village, Saturday 10 PM-11 PM

Kamcoco

Kamcoco is a Miami local with roots from South Africa. Her signature sound blends vocal rich nu disco with afro house beats, and even indie dance. With performances at Miami hot spots such as Oasis, Zey Zey, Boho House and 1K Room, she is a rising star in the scene. Kamcoco has opened for major artists such as Sofi Tukker and LP Giobbi while also making an appearance on LP Giobbi’s Femme House Radio on Sirius XM. Stream Kamcoco’s music here.

“What excites me most about We Belong Here 2024: I remember in February 2022 I had just met a really nice group of girls after moving to Miami during Covid, and I suggested we check out the We Belong Here festival. They were already thinking about it so we got our tickets and had the absolute best time. We took a boat there and then danced all night in typical Miami fashion. The next year I entered a contest to play the 2023 event but didn’t get chosen. I attended the 2024 NYE We Belong Here event and met a We Belong Here staff member who told me he remembered listening to my set in 2023 and said he was so excited I was finally going to get to play. That’s exactly how I feel. I had one of my first experiences at a Miami festival with my new friends in 2022 at WBH and now I’m celebrating my first DJ set at a music festival with those same friends. It sort of feels like a full circle moment and I’m so glad to be part of the WBH fam.”

Max & Dana, Lost Village, Sunday 7 PM-8 PM

Max & Dana

Max & Dana is a Miami based house and techno duo. Their music is electric with groovy house and techno beats perfect for dancing. One of our favorite things about them is their commitment to lifting up others who are starting out in the industry. Their current Instagram series “The DJs Guide to Blowing Up in 2024” is dedicated to tips and tricks for new DJs from social media hacks to branding and even starting a community around your music. You can listen to their music here. They took to Instagram to discuss the festival:

“Sunday we’re popping off at the We Belong Here festival. If you’re unfamiliar with their show, definitely check them out. They’re super community oriented and do an amazing job supporting upcoming DJs. If you’re the type of DJ looking for opportunities, this is definitely a festival worth following. If you’re a raver looking to have a blast this weekend, come party with us. We got a super cool crew rallying for this show.”

This list goes on and on for the Miami talent performing at the festival. Check out more of our most anticipated artists here.

Tickets are on the final tier for this weekend’s event so be sure to grab them as soon as possible!
