5 DJs We’re Seeing at Gem & Jam Festival 2023

Gem & Jam Festival is returning to Tucson, Arizona this February, and the lineup is filled with jam bands and electronic music DJs such as these five artists.

Gem & Jam Festival, held annually in Arizona, brings together a wide range of funky, groovy, and heavy music genres to create a unique festival experience similar to Electric Forest. The 2023 Gem & Jam lineup includes plenty of DJs and producers that will make February 3-5 in Tucson another unforgettable weekend.

While there are popular names like LSDream, Haywyre, and SoDown on the lineup, there are also some can’t-miss names sprinkled throughout the undercard, including the five artists listed below. Gem & Jam 2023 tickets are still available to purchase.

Huxley Anne

Previously taking the stage at Project Z, Infrasound, and Dirtybird CampInn, Huxley Anne has established herself as one of the top experimental bass artists on the festival circuit. A multi-genre DJ/producer with a focus on thought-provoking and ethereal bass music, Huxley Anne’s appearance at Gem & Jam festival is highly anticipated. She has performed alongside Noisia, Tsuruda, The Glitch Mob, and Ivy Lab and has worked in the creative department for music videos by artists like Vince Staples and Migos.

Jon Casey

Hailing from South Africa, Jon Casey is a trap & bass artist with a rhythmic and energetic sound. He has recently released music with two of the genre’s most famous tastemakers: RL Grime’s Sable Valley collective and UZ’s Quality Goods Records. He went on a North American tour in 2022 with artists like Jantsen and LYNY and opened for Alison Wonderland at her Red Rocks show. Currently one of the top artists in the EDM trap scene, 2023 will be a big year for Jon Casey.

J. Phlip

Jessica Phillipe was one of the core members of the Dirtybird collective in San Francisco in the mid-2000s and became a force in house music alongside Justin Martin, Ardalan, Worthy, and Claude Vonstroke throughout the following years. Since moving on from the label, J. Phlip has explored multiple genres with ease. Her style has evolved into an eclectic mix of breaks, electro, acid, house, and other influences. With former labelmates Justin Martin and Justin Jay also performing, Gem & Jam packs a punch when it comes to cutting edge house and electronic music.

MZG

Previously based in Florida and performing at the latest edition of Suwannee Hulaween, MZG is a trap & bass music duo consisting of twin brothers Zach and Charles Weinert. Now living in Colorado, MZG has collaborated with Big Gigantic, Manic Focus, Wreckno, and Kyral & Banko. The two brothers joined forces in 2014 after several years working on other projects. They’re self-taught musicians known for their bass driven and hip-hop influenced beats.

He has previously toured with Liquid Stranger, Luzcid, and Champagne Drip and performed at Wakaan Music Festival and Electric Zoo in 2022.
