Area 406 Festival Is Bringing 12th Planet and ill.gates to Montana

Area 406 Festival is returning to Kalispell, Montana on July 1-2 with headliners 12th Planet, Ahee, Wick-It The Instigator, Chali 2NA, and ill.gates.

The EDM scene in Montana got a massive boost last year when Area 406 Festival made its debut in Kalispell. Area 406 Festival is returning in a big way in 2022, bringing two days of dance music and camping back to the Flathead County Fairgrounds from July 1-2.

The festival features a mix of both internationally touring artists and local acts from the Montana EDM scene. Area 406 will also feature a performance from Chali 2NA, one of the most popular members of the hip-hop group Jurassic 5.

Tickets to Area 406 Festival start at $120 with both car and RV camping add-ons available. The festival is expanding to two days in 2022 after debuting as a one-day festival headlined by Nero in 2021.

The festival is bringing out both recognizable names and more underground acts.

Most dubstep fans will recognize 12th Planet, ill.gates, and Ahee. The rest of the lineup includes Wick-It The Instigator, a multi-genre producer and DJ known for his mashups and live streams. Chris Karns is a 3-time Red Bull Thre3style championship turntablist who has toured with Pretty Lights. Megan Hamilton is a producer and vocalist from Montana who has worked with Defunk, Sodown, LUCZID, and more. DJ Mary Mac has toured with Madonna and opened for legendary acts like Snoop Dogg and Pitbull.

Area 406 will feature live art installations, food trucks, a Silent Disco, and onsite camping with showers and vendors.

Taking place from Friday, July 1st, 2022 to Saturday, July 2nd, Area 406 Festival is an 18+ event. The festival will feature live music across across three stages from 6 PM to midnight, and campers will have in-and-out access from the campground during festival hours. With unique vibes, a diverse lineup, and a festival-ready venue, Area 406 Festival is going to be a weekend to remember.

The Area 406 team all grew up right here in Montana, so we take a lot of pride in trying to bring something new and exciting to the area we all love. The dance music scene has been greatly underserved in Montana  for a really long time and we hope events like this help bring new people in to discover what it’s all about”
