With less than a month to go, here are the top 5 things we’re most looking forward to at Summer Camp Music Festival 2022 in Chillicothe, Illinois.
Summer Camp Music Festival is a three-day festival on Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-29) in Chillicothe, Illinois. Located about 2.5 hours outside of Chicago, Summer Camp’s mix of electronic music and jam bands has resulted in a massive following across the festival scene.
Known for “feeling like home”, the 21st year of the festival will be a fun one. Returning once again to its home in Three Sisters Park, the festival is headlined by Umphrey’s McGee, Moe., Smashing Pumpkins, Zeds Dead, and Big Gigantic.
Summer Camp is less than a month away, and we can’t wait to return to Central Illinois for another long Memorial Day Weekend. Take a look at the Scamp 2022 lineup and our top five reasons to be excited for this one-of-a-kind festival below. Summer Camp Music Festival tickets are still on sale.
Summer Camp 2022 Set Times:

Summer Camp 2022 Lineup:

1. Summer Camp 2022 will include the return of Red Barn Late Night shows for the first time since 2019.
Summer Camp Music Festival is known for amazing after parties known as the Red Barn Late Nights. These shows typically start after the festival headliners finish and go all through the entire night. Last year the Red Barn shows were unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic, making their announcement for this year even more special.
Tickets are set to be on sale soon, but the only way to guarantee a spot at all of these sets is to get a VIP upgrade. This year’s lineup includes Umphrey’s McGee, Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, Liquid Stranger, and Manic Focus.

2. The Summer Camp Lineup has jam bands, rock, bluegrass, and electronic music all in one place.
2022 brings back Scamp favorites like STS9, Zeds Dead, and of course three days of Umphrey’s McGee and moe. Other notable acts include Shpongle, Whethan, SNBRN, 1788-L, The Motet, and Zeds Dead. My first Summer Camp was in 2017, and it had one of my favorite Zeds Dead sets to date.
3. Summer Camp Field Day has tug of war, dodgeball, and other group camp activities.
On top of the music, Summer Camp hosts a wide array of food, art, and activities. As you may have guessed, some of those activities include those you probably played at summer camp while growing up.
The color war competitions include Tug-O-War, Twister, Donut Eating Contests, and Dodgeball. Being able to take a break from the music is great, and the Field Day games bring both nostalgia and fun to the weekend. The first 50 people to sign up per team (yellow, purple, red, or blue) get an official bandana in their teams color. Sign up is open now.

4. Summer Camp 2022 is once again held on Memorial Day Weekend.
One of the things that makes Summer Camp so special is that it is hosted over a holiday weekend. With last year’s fest having moved later in the summer, returning Scampers only had to wait a few months between the 2021 and 2022 festivals!
5. Illumination Woods is returning for its second year after being added in 2021.
The debut of Illumination Woods was one of the highlights of Summer Camp 2021. The magical collection of lights, art installations, and other surprises was not only a great place to chill out during the heat of summer days, but also a place to explore and get lost in at night. This year’s Illumination Woods is set to be bigger and better than ever…just like the festival itself.
