Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim Join Forces on “Speed Trials on Acid”

Legendary artists Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim have released “Speed Trials on Acid”, a collaboration featuring vocals from Dan Diamond.

When it comes to the most legendary electronic dance music DJs of all time, there aren’t many names that come before Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim. The two legendary figures just collaborated on a massive acid house track, “Speed Trials on Acid“.

Both artists are coming off memorable performances at Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week. The track, written during the pandemic by Carl Cox, is a dancefloor-ready anthem with a touch of Fatboy Slim’s production on top.

The track features lyrics from Dan Diamond about “living in a world of love” and enjoying the present moment.

“Speed Trials on Acid” is an instant classic. While the careers of both Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim date back to the 1980s, this is their debut collaboration. It’s the result of both artists writing some of their best music during quarantine and dreaming of brighter days.

The track features a creative mix of house and techno elements. “Speed Trials on Acid” will appear on Fatboy Slim’s upcoming album, which is set to be released later this year. It’s an uplifting song that will undoubtedly be played out heavily this summer and go down as one of the best releases of the year.

“I thought Norman [Fatboy Slim] might like it as he likes a bit of acid in his music. He had the idea of bringing Dan’s vocal in and adding the string work to the track to make it what it is now. When I listened to the end result, I thought it was absolute genius. He has brought his own flavour to it and I think it’s stunning piece of work. I’m really proud of what we’ve created.”
