SYSTEM KIDS Releases “High Score” and Teases Upcoming Originals [INTERVIEW]

SYSTEM KIDS is a melodic bass music artist from Chicago that has amassed over a million SoundCloud streams on his remixes and original tracks. “High Score” is his latest single, the first track of a busy 2025 for SYSTEM KIDS.

SYSTEM KIDS first broke though the industry with a remix of “Kids” by MGMT. He has since released popular reworks of tracks by Florence + The Machine, Benson Boone, Coldplay, Porter Robinson, Kaskade, and many more.

With a sound that touches on nostalgia from past eras, SYSTEM KIDS combines melodies, heavy bass, and creative vocals to produce a unique sound. Usually opting for a melodic bass vibe, “High Score” is an 8-bit inspired hard dubstep track. It follows the ‘Rise’ EP, a four-track showcase of original music released last August.

“High Score” by SYSTEM KIDS is available for free download and can be streamed on all platforms.

To celebrate the new release, we interviewed SYSTEM KIDS on the second episode of the Premier Music Podcast. We talk about his beginnings as an artist and the dedicated production routine that has resulted in shows across the country including Exchange LA, The Vanguard in Orlando, and a live set at North Coast Music Festival 2024. SYSTEM KIDS revealed that his 2025 release schedule includes new original tracks dropping in each of the upcoming months.

His career started at University of Iowa, playing shows alongside TVVIN and Levity at sold out college bars. Through hard work and a passion for electronic music, SYSTEM KIDS has since shared the bill with artists like Jessica Audiffred, DJ Diesel, Illenium, and Kaivon.

2025 promises to be a big year for SYSTEM KIDS. With multiple successful tracks and more on the way, he’s an artist that all dubstep and future bass listeners should be paying attention to.

“I wanted to try to create a new style of dubstep music for the lovers of music and video games. I think it’s super important to create a world around ‘High Score’ since it’s such a unique track within itself.”
