The trance legends just released a 5-track EP titled Tranquility Base Vol 2, named after an Above & Beyond side project from the early 2000s.
Above & Beyond is one of the longest standing and most relevant artist groups in the history of electronic music. Their latest EP, ‘Tranquility Base Vol 2’, features five club-ready instrumental records that showcase the trio’s legendary production prowess.
Following recent shows around the world including ABGT 600 in Mexico City, Above & Beyond return to their Anjunabeats imprint to continue a strong year of new music releases. Their closing set at North Coast Music Festival 2024 was an all-time favorite, and that vibe is readily available on this latest EP.
Above & Beyond – Tranquility Base Vol 2 EP
The first edition of the ‘Tranquility Base’ EP series came out last year. Two of the tracks on that EP hit #1 on the Beatport Trance charts, with Vol. 2 finding similar success. Both releases include five quality productions along with five extended releases of each song.
“React”, the lead single from Tranquility Base Vol. 2, features big chords and a heavy bassline. “Another Breakdown”, another single released in November, provides a euphoric classic trance vibe. It’s reminiscent of the music that Above & Beyond previously made as Tranquility Base, which debuted on Anjunabeats in 2001.
“From Grey To Light” brings a more experimental vibe with piano chords and acid house influences. “Chasing Highs” has more classic trance energy, with long buildups capped with euphoric drops. Finally, “Hackney Siren” combines breakbeat, trance, and acid house for an uptempo tune full of creativity.
Above & Beyond have upcoming apperances at Dreamstate Australia, Ultra Music Festival, and Coachella. The EP release coincides with a limited edition Tranquility Base t-shirt available at the Anjuna Merch Store.
Tranquility Base Vol. 2 showcases the best of Above & Beyond’s club-minded side. With several genres and moods explored on the EP, it’s worth a listen for anyone that has the slightest interest in Above & Beyond’s music.
