North Coast Music Festival is back again this Labor Day Weekend for another 3 days at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. As one of the longest standing festivals in the Midwest, North Coast 2024 will continue the festival’s decorated legacy in the EDM scene.
North Coast is now in its fourth year at the SeatGeek Stadium campus just outside of Chicago. The festival uses the stadium and surrounding lots and soccer fields to deliver a solid festival experience. Special sets in the Chill Dome
One of the stages at North Coast is on the interior of an indoor soccer field. Inside of the dome, there is air conditioning and comfortable seating on the floor. Several artists are playing a second set in the dome: Dr. Fresch is playing a DNB set, Tape B is playing a ‘Driptapes’ set, and LYNY is playing a house and UK garage set. Other artists performing include Zebo and Avi Sic, and there will also be yoga to kick off each day.
Label takeovers at the Shipyard Stage
All three of the main stages at North Coast can handle massive crowds. The Shipyard Stage has historically been the stage where daily label takeovers can be found. On Saturday, Tchami’s No Redemption collective is taking over, with artists like AC Slater, Moksi, Bijou, and Capozzi performing before a headlining spot from Tchami and Malaa. Sunday is a drum n bass (and more) day from Brownies and Lemonade featuring IsoKnock, Chase & Status, and Hedex.
Stage takeovers at The Fire Pit and Club Coast
The Fire Pit and Club Coast are the two side stages featuring both local and headlining artists. Each day has artist programming curated by different collectives. The Fire Pit is one of the first stages near the festival’s entrance. Friday is presented by Ether x NSW (bass music), Saturday is Hood Politics (house music), and Sunday is EDM Chicago (various genres). Download the North Coast app for the password to enter Club Coast each day. Afterlife Chicago and What’s Good Chicago are hosting takeovers there on Friday and Sunday.
Headlining Performances in The Stadium
As the sun sets on each day of North Coast, The Stadium is the only stage that goes until the festival closes each night. Subtronics, Illenium, and Two Friends are the Stadium headliners for 2024. On Friday and Saturday, the sets end at midnight, and Sunday ends at 10:30. The Stadium features exciting production with lights and fireworks and offers viewing options on both the dance floor and in the seats. It’s also where Seven Lions, Alan Walker, Disco Lines, Netsky, DJ Diesel, and Boogie T are performing throughout the weekend.
Closing sets at The Vega
While the Stadium is technically the main stage at North Coast, The Vega might actually be the stage with better lights and production. Closing sets from Above & Beyond, LSZEE (CloZee and LSDream), and Slander are sure to be highlights. There are plenty of areas to view The Vega stage comfortably, as the back of the crowd still sounds great and the right side opposite the main walkway is always wide open. ACRAZE, Deorro, Deathpact, G Jones, Crankdat, and San Holo are some of our can’t-miss artists at this stage.
New Additions to North Coast 2024
While the layout and programming of North Coast stays consistent throughout the years, there are always new elements being added to the mix. Last year was the first year of the ferris wheel, which returns in 2024. This year features the debut of the Coastie Cafe, a new onsite restaurant with Michelin star chef Brian Fisher. Frick Frack Blackjack is coming to North Coast, the non-cash Blackjack booth that often makes appearances at festivals around the country. North Coast is also offering more transportation options in 2024, including a direct shuttle to and from Midway Airport and the surrounding resorts.
