CLUB SCHNEUZERS, a producer from the Chicagoland area, is an up-and-coming name in the house music scene. His music includes heavy use of synths, guitar samples, airy vocals, and a good amount of 909 kicks.
Tommy Somolski, aka CLUB SCHNEUZERS, has a goal to move crowds and inspire the masses by encouraging them to make what they want and do what feels right. His debut EP, SWINGS, is out now on Fahrenheit Records.
SWINGS consists of a variety of electronic music styles, leaning towards experimental and ambient electronic. The tracks “Opals” and “Feels Right” are similar in ways, creating synthesized melodies that create an atmospheric and ethereal soundscape. The texture of both of these songs is dense and multi-layered, allowing for various sounds to weave in and out. The genre of this EP is similar to the tunes of Rufus Du Sol, Tchami, and LP Giobbi, creating a peaceful “head in the clouds” type atmosphere for the listener.

“Feeling Grateful”, the closing track on the EP, is a crowd favorite on the tracklist. This tune starts off melodic and higher pitched, creating an optimistic aura. The Spotify visuals tie in the type of memories and emotions the song is meant to convey: feelings of nostalgia, youth, and happiness. It is reminiscent of social moments with friends, similar to the type of setting the song is intended to be listened in.
SWINGS is just the beginning for CLUB SCHNEUZERS. Check out our interview with him below to hear about his inspirations, goals for this project, and more.

Where did your inspiration for creating SWINGS come from?
At its roots, my inspiration for making the EP had really come from hearing a song by Kanye West, “Real Friends”, in 2016. The melodic beat was so intriguing and emotional. It made me inspired to want to recreate it and make something like he did. My taste in music has shifted from that point to where it is now, but the want to create and inspire others has remained HEAVILY present all the way through the years. At the highest of levels, that is the driver here. I want to inspire others to just do it and make what they need to make with no holds barred.
What is your favorite song on the tracklist?
This is a tough one. I would say my overall favorite, everything considered, is probably “Feeling Grateful”. This song reminds me of a nostalgic memory. Music to me is like a portal, it brings me to moments I had forgotten and reminds me of how good life has treated me. I specifically remember showing this song to my sister and can remember with great detail her expression and excitement with it. “Feeling Grateful” is the song that evokes the most feeling on the EP for me and is my thoughts/feelings in music form.
Who are some artists that you look up to and how does their music inspire your own?
Some of the artists that inspire me are Disco Lines, it’s murph, Luude, Rufus Du Sol, Dom Dolla, and Noizu. I think I resonate with the first two the most because of their upbringing and rise in the industry but also because of their consistently good stuff. Disco Lines and it’s murph seem like they can’t miss and I just love it.
When I listen to their music, as well as Noizu’s, it feels so authentic and they almost always have this positive uplifting undertone that I look for in my day-to-day. Luude and Dom Dolla inspire more heavy-hitting vibes compared to the previous three, and I do not suppress those creative flows. To me, it is important to have a balance between it all because at the end of the day, we feel it all and express it all.
What are some of the next goals you hope to achieve as an artist?
My next goals are to release a few singles with some of the new stuff I have been working on and to do more collaborations. I think putting two brains together creates a whole new feel and that is a path I am very open to pursuing. From vocalists to drummers and producers alike, collabing is something that I look forward to. I really am trying to make something of this and I guess I just want to continue to get better.
