It’s Memorial Day Weekend, which means Movement Music Festival is back. The Movement 2024 lineup is impressive, with headliners like Solomun, Richie Hawtin, and Fatboy Slim.
Movement Festival goes from Saturday, May 25 to Monday, May 27. Held in the middle of downtown Detroit along the Detroit River, Movement has several stages and dates back to the early 2000s. It hosts a mix of underground house and techno with a focus on Detroit’s history, as well as a diverse selection of other acts like Dom Dolla and Ludacris.

Floorplan, Pyramid Stage, Saturday 9-10:30 PM

Floorplan is the father-daughter duo of Robert Hood and Lyric Hood. Detroit Techno legend Robert Hood first started his Floorplan alias in 1996, and recently revived the project alongside his daughter. Floorplan is known for hard hitting techno and house music with a gospel, soul, and disco influence.
Solomun, Movement Stage, Saturday 10-12:00 AM

German-Bosnian artist Solomun has gained traction as one of the worldwide headliners of underground house music. Known for his Ibiza residencies and Diyamic record label, Solomun often plays extended sets that traverse countless genres. He’s a talented dancefloor selector making a special appearance at Movement Detroit 2024.
Loco Dice, Stargate Stage, Saturday 10:30-12:00 AM

With influences combining electronic music, hip-hop, and more, Loco Dice is a globally known DJ with a focus on live sets.
With several Ibiza residencies and previous appearances at Movement, Ultra Miami and Dirtybird CampINN, Loco Dice is closing out the Stargate Stage on Saturday at a time that there are several potential set time conflicts.
I Hate Models, Underground Stage, Sunday 9-10:30 PM

Hard techno mainstay I Hate Models has a vibe that is truly one of a kind. Originally from France, IHM focuses on the emotional response to his music rather than any traditional “rules” of a DJ set. He experiments with obscure sounds and genres to create a high-energy show that is in high demand across the world.
999999999, Underground Stage, Sunday 10:30-12:00 AM

999999999 have become legends in the global hard techno scene. Whether they’re performing at Movement Festival or afterparties, 999999999 are regulars in Detroit every Memorial Day. Combining high energy techno, hardstyle, and more, 999999999 utilize a live setup and deeply read into the audience’s energy.
Fatboy Slim, Movement Stage, Monday 9:30-11:00 PM

A legendary DJ/producer with a career that spans across several decades, Fatboy Slim is closing out the main stage on the last day of the festival. His tracks like “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Praise You” are rave classics, while his newer songs like “Role Model” continue to find success.
Chris Lake, Stargate Stage, Monday 9:30-11:00 PM

Chris Lake has been at the forefront of house music for much of its recent history. He recently released “Summertime Blues” with Sammy Virji, as well as his popular remake “Somebody” with Gotye, Kimbra, and Fisher. Chris Lake’s label Black Book Records has seen releases from artists like Eli Brown, Cloonee, and Biscits. He’s closing out the Stargate Stage at the end of Movement Festival 2024.
