5 Things We’re Excited For at North Coast Music Festival 2023

North Coast Music Festival is returning to SeatGeek Stadium for Labor Day Weekend. Here are 5 things to look forward to at the Chicago-area festival.

North Coast Music Festival is one of the longest standing electronic music festivals in the Midwest. Starting in 2010 with a mix of jam bands and DJs, the festival has evolved into an annual event taking over the entirety of the SeatGeek Stadium campus in Bridgeview, Illinois.

Located just outside the city limits of Chicago, North Coast hosts a mix of bass music, house, and EDM to create one of the best festival lineups in the city’s electronic scene. There are a total of eight stages at the festival in 2023. Set times are out now.

Tickets to North Coast are still available. Get your tickets now, and take a look at some of the new stages and experiences we’re most looking forward to this year below.

The New Shipyard Stage

For the festival’s past two years at SeatGeek, The Canopy stage has been the smallest of the three stages placed near The Vega. After receiving some complaints about noise bleed between these two stages, NCMF moved The Vega to face the opposite way. Also, The Shipyard will take on a brand new stage design, constructed with shipping containers and additional lasers, lights, and CO2. It is being billed as having 492,000 watts of sound for a unique sensory experience.

Themed Stages and Stage Takeovers

Several record labels and artist collectives are set to host stages for the entirety of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Friday, Wakaan will be at The Vega stage with artists like Canabliss, Jantsen, and Liquid Stranger. Lane 8 is bringing This Never Happened to The Shipyard on Saturday along with Elderbrook, Sultan + Shepard, Le Youth, and Jerro. Chris Lake is doing the same with his Black Book Records brand on Sunday, featuring Cloonee, Kyle Watson, Bruno Furlan, and more. Local Chicago collectives will also be hosting branded takeovers at The Fire Pit stage.

Debut of the Jose Cuervo Stage

Being announced just the week before the festival, the Cuervo Stage is sure to bring some surprises to North Coast. The lineup is impressive – Cloonee, Aluna, Evan Giia, Alexandar Smash, and others will be performing in this intimate setting. Not many details have been released about the stage yet, but set times have been revealed.

Special Sets in the Chill Dome

The Chill Dome, an indoor stage located within a MLS Next Pro practice facility, is returning to North Coast in 2023. The lineup for the Chill Dome has stepped up massively for this year, headlined by several artists playing different styles of music compared to their mainstage sets. Champagne Drip is playing ambient music, Surf Mesa and Inzo are playing house, and Evan Giia is hosting Giia Move, a deep house yoga class. The Chill Dome is a great place for a change of pace and different vibes.

Merchandise, Vendors, and Food Trucks

North Coast just revealed their merchandise line for 2023. It includes t-shirts, hoodies, hats, pashminas, jerseys, a backpack, and a bandana. The North Coast branding is new and improved this year, and a trip to the merch tent is definitely on our to-do list for the festival. There will be dozens of external vendors spread throughout the venue selling their own merchandise as well. Also, North Coast is bringing out several food trucks and food stands, giving attendees plenty of food and drink options on top of what’s already available inside the stadium.
